On Monday, January 25, at approximately 2:30 pm, Rusk County
Sheriff’s Office received a call to respond to
County Road
4248, in
Southwest
Rusk
County
. County Road 4248 is
located in the Fairview Community, Northeast of the city of
Reklaw
. The call was in
reference to two male suspects lying on the roadway, with what
appeared to be blood stains on their bodies.
Upon arrival of
Law Enforcement, Officers found two Hispanic male victims, one lying
in the center of the road, and the second victim along the south
edge of the roadway. The
victim lying along the edge of the roadway was able to speak to a
witness and give information concerning the incident before
expiring.
The victims have
been identified and family members notified.
Victim one was identified as Rigoberto Tovar Pina, white
male, date of birth; 01-06-1981, address; 1827 CR 3754, Center,
Texas. Victim two identified as Steve Abran Parra, white male, date
of birth; 04-21-1982, and address being the same as victim one.
Rusk County Justice of Peace, Precinct 4, Darlene Childress
held inquest.
The vehicle
missing from location, believed to belong to victim Pina is a 1996
Cadillac 4 door, Green over Green, bearing
Texas
975-RFY. Vehicle has
damage to the right rear passenger side.
Two Black male suspects are being pursued in the victims’
vehicle.
Sheriff
Danny Pirtle, advised that the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, Rusk
County District Attorney Office, Texas Department of Public Safety,
Texas Rangers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, ATF, and Rusk County
Constable Precinct 4, are involved with this case. Through diligent
work of all involved, this case will be completed and suspects
arrested.
Update: The
Investigation is progressing in the double homicide of victim one,
Rigoberto Tovar Pina, and victim two, Steve Abran Parra, which
occurred on January 25, on County Road 4248, in the Fairview
Community. No arrest has
been made, however, Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, along with Texas
Department of Public Safety and Texas Rangers are working diligently
in capturing the two Black Male suspects.
We need the assistance in the community in possibly locating
the two Black male suspects, as well as the missing 1996, Dark Green
4 Door, Cadillac, bearing
Texas
975-RFY, with damage to the right rear quarter panel.

On
Saturday April 23, 2005, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a dirt road in the 7200 block of North Bilbo Road in
Mauriceville concerning a white male that was found deceased in a
ditch.
The
white male was later identified as BRYAN KEITH POWELL, a 27 year old
Orange resident.
The Investigation revealed that Mr. Powell had been murdered
and his body dumped in a ditch on
North Bilbo Road
. Mr.
Powell’s body was removed from the ditch and transported to the
Jefferson County Morgue where and autopsy was performed.
Doctor Tommy Brown, Forensic Pathologist ruled Mr. Powell’s
death a homicide.
The
Criminal Investigations Division of the Orange County Sheriff’s
Office is investigating this case and has followed up numerous
leads, spoken to numerous friends, family members and acquaintances
of the victim.

On Sunday, April 29, 2007, at approximately 7:20PM the Orange
County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a missing
person that was last seen at 8264 Linscomb
Road in Vidor. Deputies
met with Jane Campbell who wanted to report her ex-husband as
missing. The missing person was identified as BRENT
JOSEPH CAMPBELL, W/M, a 41 year old Vidor resident.
Deputies
checked the area around Mr. Campbell's residence and eventually
located Mr. Campbell deceased in the grassy area behind his
residence. Mr. Campbell's body was badly decomposed and was
transported to the Jefferson County Morgue for an autopsy. Dr.
Brown, Forensic Pathologist performed the autopsy on Mr. Campbell
but was not able to determine the exact cause of death due to the
advance decomposition.
The
Criminal Investigations Division of the Sheriff's Office has
followed up on several leads and spoke with numerous friends and
acquaintances but have not been able to solve this case. If

According
to Shelby County Sheriff Newton Johnson, on Monday August 31, 2009,
at approximately 8:20 A.M., the Shelby County Sheriff’s
Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting that the body of a female
had been found in a house in the 1100 block of
County Road
4314 in
Shelby
County
Shelby
County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Brown and Kevin Gratehouse responded to
the scene and upon arrival found a Hispanic female deceased inside the
residence.
Texas Ranger Tom Davis is assisting Sheriff Johnson in
this investigation.
The residence is located on a chicken farm and was being used
by an employee of that chicken farm as a residence.
The
victim has been identified as 17 year old Lilli Sanchez from Center,
Texas
. An
autopsy was conducted on September 1, 2009 and the tentative cause of
death appears to be blunt force trauma to the head and body.
It was also learned during the autopsy that Ms. Sanchez was
pregnant at the time she was killed.
Capital
Murder charges have been now been filed on the suspect, Jose
Barahona-Delossantos who is approximately 38 years of age.

On
4/21/2009, the
Orange
County
Sheriff’s Office responded to 12731 N. Hwy 62 concerning a stolen
travel trailer.
Upon investigation it was determined that the complainant’s
2005 Explorer travel trailer was parked in the driveway of their
residence.
Sometime between 7:30AM and 4:00PM someone backed up to the26
foot trailer and removed it from their property without their consent.
The suspects hooked up to the trailer and drove off with the
trailer southbound on Highway 62 towards IH-10.
The
trailer is a:
2005 Explorer Frontier Travel Trailer, 26 foot in length TXLP: 5BE174
White/ and blue with blue and burgundy stripes on each side.
The camper was equipped with all necessary linens, kitchen items,
camping supplies, a satellite radio and 2 televisions.
The approximate value of the trailer is $17000.00

Port Arthur
Police are hoping to generate leads toward the identity of a man wanted
for the murder of a 91-year-old woman in February. The above photo
is a sketch that was done of the suspect. The suspect is described
as a thin black man with a dark complexion. At the time of the incident,
he was wearing all black clothing including a windbreaker with a quilted
design.
Dorothy
Hickman, 91, died Feb. 21, from stab wounds received during an Feb. 10
aggravated robbery at her Crystal Creek Apartment home. An autopsy
showed the cause of death was from wounds Hickman received during the
robbery. According to police, the suspect entered Hickman’s
apartment through an unlocked door. Once inside, the suspect said he was
with the apartment management. The suspect then asked the woman for $5
and when she told the man she didn’t have the money, he attacked her.
The suspect
fled the scene on foot with property stolen from the woman’s
apartment. Police recovered the woman’s purse and a unique
handled knife that was found discarded with the handbag.
