How do I find out if someone has a criminal history?
Sometimes you need to get this information so you know you can trust someone. There are several ways in which you can get hold of this information. Gather as much information as you can first and your search will be easier. Their full name, date of birth, social security number etc. If you know they have committed a crime or suspect them of such, then the state or city where the crime was committed is useful to know too. The next step is put in a request for information from either the FBI records database, or that of your local police department. You can also apply to the bureau of prisons via their website, the department of safety and the offices of the county clerk of courts. All these will run records checks for your research.
